Get Paid To Write Earn More Money

Are you a good writer? I don’t mean that you have a college degree in journalism. I mean, can you write well?  Can you write a good story and hold the reader’s interest?   Do you know sentence and paragraph structure? Can the reader easily follow you? (I should probably include this also: Can you research a topic and accurately relay your findings?)  If you can write well, you can get paid to write and earn more money.

The best part of writing is that there are many opportunities and they are easy to access.  Everyone is doing business on the internet. Businesses need writers in a number of capacities, advertising not being the least. There’re offline and online publications you can write for.  There are blogs and websites that could use more writers; I’ll a share a few links with you shortly.

Who should read this post

If you’re a freelance writer or wish to be one (and you want to get paid to write), you should read this article.

Get paid to write

Getting paid to write is probably one of the better side gigs. You can write practically anywhere and pick times that are convenient for you. Maybe you’re a frugal person trying to get ahead. Maybe you’re trying to become debt free, or you’re want to build up your emergency account. Because of the flexibility, in any of these cases (and many more), writing could provide an ideal means to attain your goals.

I would like to share a few tips that will help you get paid to write:

Business tips

Dossier/Resume: It’s always easier to get a gig if you have proof you can the job. So, write. You might use a blog to show off your writing skills. I know some authors with an online presence. One has written for Forbes. Another hasGet paid to write provided articles for several universities. When they apply for a job, they can send a prospective employer a link to their works. Then the employer can read material and evaluate whether or not the applicant would be a valuable asset to their business.

Keep looking for work

One of the obvious things about this side gig is that you always need to be actively looking for work. Much of your work will be “one and done” gigs. To keep money coming in on a regular basis, you need to have a plan. Some authors have a continuous search going. In other words they dedicate a certain amount of time each day (or every week) looking for more work: So it won’t interfere with current projects, they answer emails, make phone calls, and schedule new work at times they have designated for those activities.

Time is everything

It’s important to balance work, looking for work, and life. As I said earlier, if this is a side gig (or you want to do this as a full-time occupation), you’ll always need to be looking for more work: It’s important to know you have deadlines—and to keep them. You may need to make a time budget similar to the way you make a budget for your money. Just remember, if you don’t follow it, a budget won’t help you.
